Recording in São Paulo: bands, drums and vocals
At Grape Sound Lab, in Alto de Pinheiros (São Paulo, Brazil), you can record a whole band playing together, track drums in a 33.4 m² live room, record vocals and overdubs, and capture filmed live sessions like those of WE4Sessions.
Live band
Studio A's live room takes the band playing together, and the two iso rooms, of 17 m² and 16.7 m², isolate vocals, amps or a second musician without losing eye contact. That is how the WE4Sessions sessions are recorded: a full band and, in many of them, horns, strings and backing vocals.
Drums
The live room has a wooden floor and acoustics made for drums. The studio has five acoustic kits (Yamaha Stage Custom, Pearl Masterworks, Tama Starclassic Performer, Gretsch Catalina Jazz Club and Q Drum Co. Copper), a Roland TD-50, seven snares and full sets of BFC cymbals. Microphones include an Earthworks DK7 kit, AKG D112, Sennheiser MD 421 and MD 441, Audix D6 and a pair of Coles 4038 ribbons, among others.
Vocals and overdubs
For vocals there are microphones such as the Telefunken TF47, AKG C12A, Neumann U 87 and Shure SM7B, with Neve 1073 DPX, API 3124MV, Chandler Limited TG2 and Universal Audio 4-710d preamps and Tube-Tech CL 1B and Manley SLAM! compressors. Vocals and overdubs can also be recorded in Studio B.
Filmed live sessions
The studio hosts filmed sessions. All 40 WE4Sessions sessions were recorded here, engineered by Gabriel Guper, assisted by Chris Wiesen and filmed by Bemloc Filmes.

- Do I need to bring my instruments?
- Not necessarily: the studio's drum kits, keyboards, guitars, basses and amps are available during the session. See the list under Gear.
